Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre

Museo | Grimsby | Inglaterra | Reino Unido

Brilliant place what I find so good about it is how it brings to life the story of Grimsby fishermen. The person who took me on the trwler tour was an ex Grimsby trawler skipper. The displays are clearly created by fishermen or their families.

Spent a very enjoyable afternoon here. It's an immersive experience with great attention to detail, enabling you to experience the sights, sounds, and smells of a fisherman's lot! My 10yr old enjoyed the additional trail type activities that were available during half term. We were surprised to discover the centre was so quiet, it felt like a little hidden gem. Would thoroughly recommend.

Really interesting museum brought to life by the former fisherman giving insightful tour and talks. I recommend the tour of Ross Tiger and our host Bob was very knowledgeable. It's a shame the industry has ended although it was a tough job.

What a great national treasure. So glad we took up the recommendation to visit. The museum and especially the guided tour of the fishing trawler were very interesting. The guide had been on the fishing fleet all his working life and knew exactly what he was talking about, with lots of interesting and funny stories.

Fascinating and well worth a visit! Never thought a trawler would be so interesting but the tour was fascinating. The exhibition is also great, and there's a nice little cafe and gift shop to complete the experience. Highly recommended.

Good museum, could use more clear directions around and less stairs, but good for a small town.

An absolute treat ! Wonderful , genuine and friendly place to visit . The museum has a surprise through every door , sometimes a shock ! Loved the authentic figures and the stories on the walk around ! The boat tour was brilliant . Ron had worked on the boat for many years at sea and he brought the place to life with great stories . Having missed the boat trip on Thursday it was very kind of them to accommodate me on the Friday . Thank you , all of you were a pleasure to meet . 😊

The museum was clean and precise . .displays good and the life size shops and real boat was designed beautifully . .also the smells were quirky ! A good insight to the harsh life of the fishing industry. . The models were uncanny . . .bit too real! . .easy parking . Boat tour worth every penny . . The skipper was passionate about his past life as a Captain . .

What a lovely museum. No wonder it rates so highly. Excellent staff. Lady on reception was so helpful and the gentleman that ran the tour round the boat was so interesting. He had worked on the boat so brought it alive for us. After the tour we went into the museum and lived it through the displays. Good spacious cafe as well. They are moving the cafe so it looks out on the dock and moving the trawler closer to the museum for a better customer experience.
